The Burning

By living in a world so full of masks,

Of faked glory, in which it basks

With the hatred of my brothers- my very own kind

Knowing all of us are spiraling- in a hole so deep and blind!

Amidst ulterior means and crooked plans,

Amidst love-lost souls and secret clans

Of the ungrateful kids, and spiteful mothers

Is humanity dead? Has all love been smothered?

Where you can’t trust a man, but trust the color of skin

Treat men like an animals; Son, where has your conscience been?

Where honesty and pride are words so dead,

And treachery & deception win daily bread

Where love is not expressed, loyalty not cool,
Where one falls out of love, where commitment is just for fools

In a world where you’re not safe, and the sanctity of life been raped-

You wonder what has become of us, with humanity irreversibly scathed

I see it burning down upon us, a dark shadow as it casts

By living in a world so full of masks,

Of faked glory, in which it basks.
